I spent a big part of the day sitting in my bed with my laptop. I prefer to spend my first day off alone or with so I can regroup. I enjoy my job, but being nice, polite, courteous, helpful, and extremely patient while dealing with customers of varying intelligence and temperament 40+ hours per week is mentally draining; that combined with the pressure I put myself under to be a top performer leaves me close to exhausted by the beginning of my fifth shift of the week (if not sooner). I am not complaining though. I am thankful to have a job1. It allows me to be independent and it’s no secret how much I value my independence and freedom.

This is the first day off I’ve had in weeks that I got to enjoy my own company. It was great. I’m supposed to go pick Tori up around midnight. Adam has been texting me. He’s trying to sweet talk me into going over to his house and hanging out with him. Apparently, he has the house to himself. He told me that he and made up. said he blacked out and doesn’t remember their fight or the events leading up to it.

Well, damn. My net just got disconnected because I forgot to pay the bill. I think it’s a little ironic because I use the web at least two-three hours per day. In addition to my car payment, phone, and insurance I covered the gas, water, and satellite bills with this paycheck. only chipped in $200, which was nowhere near his portion. I still have to get gas, pop, food, and cigarettes for the week, so I am going to have to wait until Friday to pay Cox. I already made a payment arrangement with PSO for the electric bill.

I’ve only had the laptop for about a week or so, but I really like it. It has a built in wireless card so I decided to drive around until I found a signal. I live in North Tulsa, which is considered by most Tulsans to be the ghetto. It’s fine with me. I’ve been a North Side girl most of my life. The neighborhood isn’t scary2 and rent is a whole lot cheaper. I’ve been considering moving closer to my job, but I haven’t made a decision yet.

I only drove about a mile and I found an unsecured wireless signal. I pulled over and logged in, made a few updates etc. Tori wanted me to pick her up. She only lives about a mile from where I found signal. I went to pick her up and had to wait for her sister to get home since Tori was babysitting her .

We sat out on the porch and talked. I told her about Adam inviting me over again. Then we talked about Nick and Adam’s fight. Tori told me she wasn’t surprised they got into it because Nick was being dickhead the whole day. She also said he kept trying to pump her for info about what happened when Adam spent the night.

Once Dena got there, we left. I needed to post something online so we stopped at the hotspot again then we went to pick up one of our cousins. On the way we were searching for wifi signal. We were speeding down the highway at 80 MPH and found signal. It gave a whole new meaning to the term high speed internet.  After that we went back to my house and toked, then played games.

Overall, it was a good day off. It was even to play pirate… arrrrrrgh!
