Directv Has Balls
I got a package and letter from the Oklahoma Employment Security Commission today. They had approved my unemployment claim June 20, 2008. However, June 30th Directv decided to appeal the decision. I went through the stack of papers Directv filed on their behalf. This development is highly annoying, but in the end I will be victorious. I’ll get sworn statements from my doctor, case manager, roomies, and at least a couple former co-workers. Directv is in the wrong in so many different ways regarding me it’s not even funny.
The papers they have are incomplete. Hell, they flat out lied, but that’s okay. I have proof of the truth. I learned before that Directv is a shady company and that I would need to document everything… just in case. Well, just-in-case is here.
One of the coaching logs they submitted against me is regarding a post on my blog dated 1-10-08; the odd part is that I was on medical leave from October until February. So, how did they coach me for it? All that was recorded on the log was that I wrote an inappropriate blog. LMAO! How is the truth inappropriate? And why were they reading my blog anyway?
I’m pretty sure this is the part that they deemed “inappropriate”:
“The doctor does not want me returning to Directv until at least February 1st. I’m not sure how long I’m going to last there once I go back. I have to get away from that place. It is more detrimental to my mental health than any of my bad habits. In my mind, Directv is an evil entity that doesn’t give a damn if I’m ill or not, they just want me to work my ass off until I have another breakdown or die.”
They cannot punish me for the above statement. I was not divulging company secrets; I was merely stating my opinion of Directv. Last time I checked we do still have the right to free speech.
Directv is trying to say that I quit voluntarily by doing a no-call no-show on April 22nd and 23rd. I was unable to call in for myself at the time and Tamara called in for me until April 21st. On that date, she spoke to my team leader’s manager, Kelly Flagg, and told her I was in the hospital and unable to call in or receive calls. After Tamara explained the rest of the situation to Kelly, she told Tamara she would take care of it. Yeah, she took care of it alright… They took it as their opportunity to get me out of there. That is okay with me though. I know they are only fighting the unemployment claim because if I win they will look even worse to the EEOC.
I will do my best to make sure Directv is held accountable for the discrimination they put me through as well as the retaliation and wrongful termination. They have balls, I give them that, but they underestimate me. NEVER underestimate a bipolar woman with nothing else to lose.
Perhaps, they think if they fuck with me enough I’ll give in, well, guess what… When I get my mind set on something I don’t let it go until I get satisfaction and/or justice.
I’m tempted to go to the local media with my story and see about filing a class action discrimination lawsuit against Directv. I know for a fact I’m not the only one they have discriminated against.
I declined my right to sue them in the past, not this time. I’m going to take it all the way. I want the world to know what kind of company Directv is and how they mistreat their employees.

I was wondering where you were at with them – I must have missed an episode, I thought you had started working there again?
In any case, you go girl!!
