Bad Girls, Bad Girls, Whatcha Gonna Do…?
There was another cop infestation of my street last night. This time they weren’t after Jonathan though.
Around 11:30pm I was laying on the couch watching tv until I got tired enough to go to sleep. I heard a man’s voice outside the window and then I heard another man cough. My car has been burglarized before (a couple months after I moved into my old apartment), so I thought maybe someone was messing with my car. I opened up the front door and looked outside and there were 7 cop cars lined up from my house to the end of the block (3 other houses).
I hadn’t ever heard their sirens, so they had sneaked up all stealth-like. I was wondering what the hell was going on, but I didn’t want to stand out on the porch and gawk with them that close, so I went back in the house and went to a window.
I saw a couple cops go to my neighbor’s door (my landlord) and beat on it. A little while later I heard them beating on a side window and yelling at someone. I heard a woman’s voice, but I couldn’t understand what she was saying.
They beat on her window for over 20 minutes. Then I heard glass shatter. Right after the glass broke I heard this woman screaming bloody murder and what sounded like gunshots. I went outside and looked back there to see what was going on.
Right about then eleven cops (yes, I counted) came down the driveway dragging a woman in handcuffs. She was fighting them the whole way. They dropped her on the driveway and hog-tied her. I was in shock… eleven cops for this one little woman? WTF was that all about?
One of the cops had a huge rifle. I heard him say that they got the gun from her. A few minutes later, a couple firetrucks and a camera crew showed up. It was about 12:30. I was watching for a little while, some of the cops and firemen were hot (sorry, I love a man in uniform). After the firemen made sure the woman wasn’t hurt the cops picked her up and tossed her into the backseat of one of the cruisers.
I can’t help but wonder what kind of neighborhood I moved into. When I was a kid this was a quiet, peaceful neighborhood. Now there is a live cops show every week.
