They have hindered me because I’ve been destructive to myself and I’ve pushed everyone that has ever given a damn about me away.

What have you learned at to address your problem in a more healthy/helpful manner?

  • to set and to find healthy alternatives to self-injury
  • look out for negative exaggeration and self-talk
  • get a vocabulary for
  • not to destroy relationships when I get angry
  • to think I am the worst person in the world is very arrogant
  • positive affirmations
  • overgeneralizing fucks you over (watch out for words like always and never)

Tools:

  1. use to balance brain chemistry
  2. learn to express feelings (both negative and positive)
  3. challenge negative thinking
  4. abstinence: don’t use , don’t cut, prevent . talk about the urges with a friend
  5. turn worry and the problem over to your higher power
  6. use support groups
  7. change lifestyle – stay busy, new friends, exercise, journaling, mood inventories, etc
  8. live in gratitude
